Da Nang based OLAA A-1’s began “resupply” of Jolly Greens for Boxer 22 and flew support for the SAR.  Their comments about this event are interesting!!!

1969 – December 06; A HH-3E from the 37th ARRS, crewed by Bruce E. Prouse (P), George C. Hitt (CP), Vincent P. Freeman (FE), Curtis W. Pythian Jr. (PJ) and Eugene L. Nardi (PJ), attempted to rescue the WSO of a F-4C (Call sign “Boxer 22 Bravo”), 1st Lt. Woodrow J. Bergeron after he and his pilot, Capt. Benjamin Franklin Danielson, ejected from their 37mm AAA damaged aircraft, on 05 December 1969, near the village of Ban Phanop in southern Laos.
