The pilots highlighted in yellow would eventually receive orders on this date (See below) - 9Dec69 to proceed to Da Nang “PCS WITHOUT PCA” on/about 12Dec69 to the end of 1969. This is the first date that I see Paul Houppert with the rank of Captain. ORDER AA-6387 9 DEC 1969 (PCS WITHOUT PCA – on/about 12 DEC 69) (REPORT TO COMDR, NEW ASSIGNMENT NLT – immediately upon arrival) LT COL WOLD, JAMES W. CAPT MANNING, GLENN R. CAPT HOUPPERT, PAUL D.D. CAPT KARRE, ROBERT H. 1ST LT BLANCHARD, WARREN C. 1ST LT ENGEBRETSEN, DONALD L MAJOR BUTTERMORE, TIMOTHY L. Jim Seith please help me with this one.  I know you flew up to Da Nang with Jim Wold on 12Dec69, but you are not on these orders?  Jim Seith is included when the men who survived the going away party at Pleiku the evening of 11Dec69, moved aircraft and bodies become OLAA officially.  The first documentation I show of OLAA is 1Jan70 on a Letter of Appointment from Jim Wold.  I flew up to Da Nang early on the 12th with Glenn Manning (5 days before he perished on a GCA approach at Da Nang) and we were immediately turned for a “troops in contact” mission after landing.  I know JW was at the party the night before after flying a Fat Face Spad down to gather some of his belongings.  We now had an OLAA unit with 12 pilots and 10 airplanes.
