1969 – December 18; A HH-53C from the 37th ARRS, crewed by Harry S. Copperthite Jr. (P), Frank L. Pehr (CP), Jerry L. Burchfield (FE), Gordon C. Bailey (PJ) and Henry C. Kirk III (PJ), recovered the unresponsive pilot, James P. Allenburg of a OV-10A (Call sign “Helix 39”), after his aircraft went down in the South China Sea.
