Don Engebretsen flew a 1+30 local mission on this date as Spad 12 searching for Glenn Manning, so we likely did a SAR exercise and went looking.  After many days of searching, nothing had still been found as of my flight to the best of my memory.  Bad weather and mountains made a terrible mix to search in any fixed wing aircraft, but we all tried when we could.  I was amazed at how many other aircraft crash sites were in the Da Nang area.
