1970 – January 09; A HH-53C from the 40th ARRS, crewed by Lt. Col. Charles R. Campbell (P), John W. Goeglein (CP), Thomas B. Blakeney (FE), John J. Eldridge (PJ), Colin A. Lane (PJ) and Raymond G. Banas (AP), rescued the pilot of an A-1G (Call sign “Firefly 43”), Capt. Jackson L. 1970 – January 09; UH-1P gunships and slicks of the 20th SOS “Green Hornets” rescued part of a MACV SOG recon team from deep in enemy-held territory that was being chased by enemy forces. The two Americans on the team had been KIA. “Green Hornet” crew members known to have been involved in this action are; Capt. Robert B. Swenck (P) (awarded the Silver Star Medal), Capt. David T. Spencer (P) (awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross), TSgt. Larry Sanders (FM/AG) and A1C John Bruchey (AG). No other details are known at this time. “Secret Green Beret Commandos In Cambodia” by Lt.
