1970 – January 15; A HH-43B from Det. 3, 38th ARRS, crewed by Capt. M. C. Kiefl (P), unkn (CP), unkn (FE) and unkn (PJ), rescued the WSO of a F-4D (Call sign “Stormy Bravo”), 1st Lt. Ralph D. Leblanc, after he ejected from his ground fire damaged aircraft in southern Laos, near the village of Ban Kate. The pilot, Maj. Tommy Ray Warren (Call sign “Stormy Alpha”) did not eject and was KIA. “Vietnam Air Losses” by Chris Hobson & JRCC Save Form & “PJ’s in Vietnam” by Robert L. LaPointe
