OLAA went on 24 hour alert to support flying escort missions for AC-119 Stingers from 21-24Jan70.  Pilots from the 1st SOS helped solve the problems of obtaining night escort tactics by giving OLAA a night escort briefing… from OLAA HISTORICAL DATA RECORD

1970 – January 22; A HH-3E crewed by Maj. Edward B. Robbins (P), Jimmie Blackwood (CP), David J. Bond (FE) and Paul L. Jenkins (PJ), rescued the pilot of a A-1H (Call sign “Zorro 16”), Capt. Ernest F. Anderson, after he ejected from his automatic weapons fire damaged aircraft about 20 miles NE of Nakhon Phanom RTAFB, Thailand.
