1970 – March 21; A HH-53C from 40th ARRS, crewed by Charles R. Campbell (P), James R. Blewitt (CP), Travis R. Hendrix (FE), William E. Lester (PJ) and Paul L. Jenkins (PJ), attempted an unsuccessful SAR for the co-pilot of a F-4D (Call sign “Wolf 06 Bravo”), 1st Lt. Dennis Gerald Pugh (P) after he and his pilot, Capt. William A. Rash, had ejected from their 37 mm AAA fire damaged aircraft near Ban Senphan at the southern end of the Mu Gia Pass, Laos on 19 March 1970. No contact was made with Lt.
