This gets interesting now. When does Pete Williams become Commander of OLAA 24? (Jun according to his notes!!!) He needs to have a 30 day command for career purposes. Check the date of arrival of Mel Swanson at OLAA (21Jul70) to assume command, when he finds that his flight to OLAA in June was for naught. I have a picture of Jim Wold (with Col Morris) on what really appear to be his last flight (not shown on his 20B form). And, in the same picture, I have Mel Swanson and Pete Williams! Soon Pete assumes command and Otis becomes the Ops Officer! Pete’s last day as OLAA commander is around 22July. First orders showing Mel Swanson as OLAA Commander are effective 24Jul70! On this day, Terry Bolstad likely flies his first flight in OLAA with Don E as listed below. Terry remembers George Miller sending him to OLAA because we need Flight Lead, FCF, IP types of qualifications in our Roster! Makes sense.
