1970 – October 05; UH-1P gunships of the 20th SOS “Green Hornets”, one of which was UH-1P #63-13146 crewed by Capt Marion J. Messenger (P), Capt. Jenkins (CP), TSgt. James W. Green (FM/AG) and unkn (AG), supported VNAF CH-34 “Kingbee” helicopters in the extraction of a MACV SOG team deep in enemy held territory in Cambodia. No other details are known at this time. “Secret Green Beret Commandos In Cambodia” by Lt. Col. Fred S. Lindsey, USA (Ret.)

John Plasters book “SOG: A Photo History of the Secret Wars” lists 5 Oct. 1970  Missouri Laos  S. Sgt. David Davidson, Sgt. Fred Gassman (as one of 10 Lost Recon Teams [teammembers???] on this date).
