These are the last orders I have for OLAA. The unit shut down in about 3 weeks and I know very little about this time period. Bill Oberlin has explained how the “assets” of OLAA were dealt with and I have heard rumors of a final 8 ship departure flyby at Da Nang. Any help in this timeframe would be appreciated.
Prior to the issue of these orders, John Williams was killed on 7Oct70. A change of command has Bob Adams commanding the unit. Al Lundy and Tom Stump are now on different assignments at NKP. I am not sure what happened to Jack Wolcott as his DEROS shows 29APR71 on the 30Sep orders???. SOG missions had changed significantly by this time with about half the team infills now happening in-country. The war would last much longer, but soon NKP would be reduced to 1 squadron and nearly 30 A-1’s would be transferred to the VNAF.
