1970 – April 28; A HH-3E from the 37th ARRS, crewed by Maj. Edward L. Lavaty (P), George C. Hitt (CP), Joseph J. Vai (FE) and Robert Reisig (PJ), rescued one crew member, 1st Lt. James S. Meyers, of a downed USMC UH-1 (Call sign “Comprise 45”) helicopter and the PJ, Jules C. Smith from “Jolly Green 33”, in RVN. No other details are known at this time. “PJ’s in Vietnam” by Robert L.
